Study Materials


Study material for various licensing examinations are available from the Insurance Brokers' Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS), Insurance Institute of Canada or from other industry organizations.  Please contact the examination coordinator at (306) 347-0862 for direction and assistance.

A summary of available material for each licence category can be found below.

Adjusters
There is no formal study material for the General Insurance Council Adjuster Qualifying examination.  The C11-Principles and Practice of Insurance, available from the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Insurance Institute of Canada may be used for reference purposes.

Adjusters are required to complete specific Insurance Institute of Canada courses and examinations in order to advance to Level 2 and Level 3. 

Refer to the General Schedules regarding licence restrictions.


General Agents
The Fundamentals of Insurance and CAIB 1, 2, 3, 4 study material is available from the Insurance Brokers' Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS).

Information regarding the Broker Agents Program is available from the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Insurance Institute of Canada.

The General Bylaws and Schedules are available from the Council office or this web site.


Hail Agents
The Hail Bylaws, Schedules and Hail Insurance Study Guide are available from the Council office or this web site.


Hail Adjusters

The Hail Adjuster Exam has been developed from information contained in the Crop Hail Adjustment Manual (developed for distribution by the Hail Insurance Council of Saskatchewan), The Saskatchewan Insurance Act as it relates to Hail Insurance and the Hail Adjuster Bylaws.  Copies of the study material, excluding the Hail Adjustment Manual, are available from the Hail Council office.


Life Agents
It is mandatory for all applicants to enroll in a LLQP course of study and become certified by an LLQP course provider prior to writing the provincial licensing exam(s).

Proof of course certification will need to be presented to the examination co-ordinator at the time the applicant schedules for the exam.  Applicants will not be allowed to schedule exam(s) without this document.
