Study material for various licensing
examinations are available from the Insurance Brokers' Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS),
Insurance Institute of Canada or from other industry organizations. Please contact
the examination coordinator at (306) 347-0862 for direction and assistance.
A summary of available material for each licence category can be found below.
register for an exam, applicants must complete and submit the Licensing
Examination Application Form (including fee) to the Insurance Councils
of Saskatchewan before an exam sitting will be scheduled. The Licensing

There is no formal study material for the General Insurance Council Adjuster
Qualifying examination. The C11 Principles and Practice of Insurance and C110
Essentials of Loss Adjusting, available from the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Insurance
Institute of Canada may be used for reference purposes.
Adjusters are required to complete specific Insurance Institute of Canada courses and
examinations in order to advance to Level 2 and Level 3.

Property & Casualty Agents
The Fundamentals of Insurance and CAIB 1, 2, 3, 4 study material is available from the
Insurance Brokers' Association of Saskatchewan (IBAS).
Information regarding the Broker Agents Program is available from the Saskatchewan Chapter
of the Insurance Institute of Canada.
The Introduction to General Insurance program is available from the ILS
The General Insurance Council Bylaws are available from the Council office or this web site.
The Extended Auto Insurance Licensing Course and Examination offered by the
Insurance Brokers' Association of Saskatchewan, and the SGI Auto Fund New Issuer Training

The General Insurance Bylaws and Hail Insurance Study Guide are available from the
Council office or this web site.
The Hail Adjuster Exam has been developed from information contained in the Crop Hail
Adjustment Manual (developed for distribution by the General Insurance Council of
Saskatchewan), The Insurance Act as it relates to Crop Hail Insurance and the
Crop Hail Adjuster Bylaws. Copies of the study material, excluding the Hail Adjustment
Manual, are available from the General Council office.
Life A&S and/or A&S Agents
It is mandatory for all applicants to enroll in a LLQP course of study and become
certified by an LLQP course provider prior to writing the provincial licensing exam(s).
