Notice to Membership: Errors & Omissions Insurance Certificate Required to Avoid Suspension

Every year, the Insurance Councils of Saskatchewan (ICS) requires a copy of a licensee’s renewed Errors & Omissions (E&O) Certificate of Insurance, pursuant to sections 5-26(1), 5-32(1)(b), 5-47(1) and 5-62(1)(b) of The Insurance Act.

The E&O Certificate of Insurance must be provided no later than the expiry date of the E&O Policy.

If ICS does not receive a copy of your renewed E&O Certificate of Insurance by the E&O Policy expiry date:

  • your licence will be suspended for failing to comply with the E&O requirements; and
  • you will be prohibited from acting in the business of insurance as defined under The Insurance Act.

The specific E&O requirements are set out in section 5-10(1) of The Insurance Regulations.

Before the expiry date of your E&O Policy, please provide your E&O Certificate of Insurance to ICS by faxing to 306.347.0525 or email to info@skcouncil.sk.ca.
